Jason Silva
Jason Luis Silva (born February 6, 1982) is a television personality, filmmaker, and public speaker. The Atlantic describes Silva as "A Timothy Leary of the Viral Video Age".
Personal life
Silva was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and now resides in Los Angeles, California, and New York City. His mother is Ashkenazi Jewish, and his father converted to Judaism.
Silva earned a degree in film and philosophy from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He, along with Max Lugavere, produced and starred in a video documentary/performance piece entitled "Textures of Selfhood"—an experimental film about hedonism and spirituality.

From 2005 to 2011, Silva was a presenter and producer on Al Gore's Emmy award winning cable network Current TV.
Public speaking
An active and prolific speaker, Silva has spoken at Google, The Economist Ideas Festival, the prestigious DLD Digital Life Design Conference in Munich, TEDGlobal, the Singularity Summit, the PSFK Conference, and the Festival of Dangerous Ideas.

The psychologist William James was a pioneer in trying to map and make sense of the higher realms of human experience, these transpersonal spaces where we encounter the mystery of being in all of its ‘suchness’. His famous ‘mystical experience’ questionnaire was an attempt to quantify the ineffable and psyche-altering power of mystical experiences. Surely, attempting to create a cartography of the sublime seems paradoxical since the very nature of these experiences lie beyond the literal grid… perhaps only poetry will do. The arts. Cinema. Jason Silva
Jason Luis Silva (born February 6, 1982) is a television personality, filmmaker, and public speaker. The Atlantic describes Silva as "A Timothy Leary of the Viral Video Age".
Personal life
Silva was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and now resides in Los Angeles, California, and New York City. His mother is Ashkenazi Jewish, and his father converted to Judaism.
Silva earned a degree in film and philosophy from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He, along with Max Lugavere, produced and starred in a video documentary/performance piece entitled "Textures of Selfhood"—an experimental film about hedonism and spirituality.

From 2005 to 2011, Silva was a presenter and producer on Al Gore's Emmy award winning cable network Current TV.
Public speaking
